Stregatto gin

The Italian Absinthe Gin: Stregatto Gin

Creativity and the alcohol industry go hand in hand. There are premium set categories like – Gin, Vodka, Whiskey etc. and every distiller contributes unique products to this frame. Gin can be considered the most spontaneous yet detail-oriented alcoholic beverage. There are many types of gin but have you ever heard about absinthe gin? If you haven’t, let me introduce you to – Stregatto Gin’s exquisite range of gins. A passion-driven task during the lockdown established the foundation of this beautiful gin.

The journey of Stregatto Gin

Founded by Davide Bortolotto in Castelfranco, this brand is natural and signifies a harmonious blend of botanicals in the purest form. David’s passion for distillation guided him towards experimentation which resulted in the curation of Stregatto Gin’s recipe. This brand became successful due to a lot of factors but the initial one was a friend’s support who worked in a distillery in Bologna.

‘I have always been passionate about distillations. During the lockdown I had to stay at home for about twenty days from work and I invested this time to cultivate my passion. I did tests after tests, invented and wrote recipes. I was lucky enough to meet a guy who works in a distillery in Bologna. So I started making my own gin, from home cooking to a friend’s distillery.’

By Davide Bortolotto

The Municipality of Castelfranco extended their support when the production of this gin started in 2020. Since then the brand has climbed up the ladder of success and is widely popular for its 3 unique expressions. The quality and flavour of Stregatto’s gin are so spot-on that in IWSC 2021 their Italian Premium Gin – Classico Stregatto Gin was bestowed with the silver medal with 90 points.

Stregatto Gin’s base is made of barley, corn, wheat, Italian cereals of the highest quality, distilled three times with continuous distillation to allow optimal alcohol rectification. The infusion process depends upon three main botanicals – Angelica root, Juniper & Coriander Seeds. After these three botanicals have been thoroughly infused in the alcohol, the infusion is distilled and then the distil is introduced to the other flavour imparting botanicals. All infusions are natural and no artificial flavouring or sugar is used in their products.
