La Bomba


  • 2 teaspoons of sugar
  • 2 lime or lemon wedges
  • 30 ml of gold tequila
  • 30 ml of Cointreau
  • 50 ml of pineapple juice
  • 50 ml of orange juice
  • 2 dashes of grenadine syrup

Cut a lime or lemon into a wedge. Put the wedge on the rim of your glass. Dip the glass rim into sugar and coat it evenly. Fill your cocktail shaker halfway with ice cubes. Squeeze the orange juice into the shaker. Add the rest of the liquid ingredients, except for the grenadine, into the shaker. Shake well. Strain the cocktail shaker’s contents into your glass. Free pour the grenadine into the glass.


La Bomba is from mixologist Joaquín Simó. A nod to the French word grenade, meaning pomegranate.
