Recipe
- Absinthe, to rinse
- 7-8 ml London dry gin
- 7-8 ml Lillet blanc
- 7-8 ml orange liqueur
- 7-8 ml lemon juice, freshly squeezed
- Garnish – lemon twist
Rinse the inside of a chilled coupe or cocktail glass with absinthe, discard the excess and set the glass aside. Add the gin, Lillet blanc, orange liqueur and lemon juice into a shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled.Strain into the prepared glass.
History
The Corpse Reviver No. 2 belongs to a family of pre-prohibition cocktails that were consumed for the chief purpose of rousing the drinker from the dead. In other words: They were meant to cure hangovers, increase vigor and otherwise improve one’s morning.
