Horse’s Neck

Recipe

  • 60ml bourbon,or American rye whiskey
  • Ginger ale (to top)
  • Garnish: lemon peel

Add the whiskey into a Collins glass over ice. Top with ginger ale. Garnish with a long strip of lemon peel.

History

Dating back to the late 19th century, a Horse’s Neck was a refreshing glass of nonalcoholic ginger ale. Later, a jigger of bourbon or rye was added. It’s a perfect Derby-party beverage, since it only calls for two ingredients.
